My silver lining on this rainy, dreary day is word on the street, (well, word from our zoom meeting, but “word on the street” sounds better) is that I can return to work next week. !!!!!!!!!!!! Before quarantine, my job away from the craziness of kids was at our local YMCA in the membership department. It’s a part time gig that I’ve loved from day one, and I am SO GRATEFUL to have been kept on through these past 2 1/2 months. Don’t get me wrong, my introverted self has enjoyed virtual school, hanging with my kiddos, walking the dog (a hundred times a day), and all of the other things that have made up quarantine life. However, I’ve definitely missed connection with other humans. While things will look very different at the Y, it will be amazing to be “back”. In the early quarantine days, I missed my people, and the certainty that was my solid work-home-life routine. I thrive on routine. So, even though there will be a level of uncertainty, we are slowly creeping towards our “New Normal”. My hope is that our new normal will include more generous humans that seek genuine connections, share smiles, kindness and encouragement with others, and that we see the world in a new light, a more radiant light, and as the gift it really is.

Ginger dog, on the other hand, doesn’t quite share my enthusiasm………….. The most spoiled, well loved and goodest girl doggo doesn’t want her human to go to the grocery, let alone go back to work for a couple hours a couple times a week. Bless.

What I hope you take away from my excitement is that when your time comes to head into the new normal, you feel at peace, and ready to embrace the multitude of changes in a positive manner, and you will share that with everyone you see. We have to get back at some point, and I’m READY to take it on!

With Sunbeams and love,

Racheal Xx
